This weekend, we celebrate the mid-summer birthday of Lisa Wise, sister to me, and family member to the cousins seen in this great vintage shot from the mid-70’s. The cousins are all about to enjoy some cake (which appears to be a German-dressed female character, I’m sure created and frosted up by hand from my momma — so I know the taste of it, despite my lack of existence at the time). The family is gathered at Lodi Community Park (handwriting on the back specified the location) and they had themselves a fine weather day, as you see a beautiful, perhaps late afternoon/nearing dusk-time yellow sunbeams permeate through the background trees. I spot a female lounger in the back and some smooth rides from the 70’s parked nearby.
Lisa is all kinds of Charlotte-y in this one, so I’m guessing this is July ’75 for her 4 year old birthday (that would be 45 years ago). If it’s ’75, then I think that makes Tracy (back left) 11 years, Terri (back right) 9 years. Darla (front left), 4 years, Dave (arm around Darla) 9 years, and Dan (front right) 7 years.
There’s a crock-pot bubbling nearby (beans?), and some dip/bowl situation. I bet deviled eggs are nearby somewhere.
So we toast to Lisa today and this weekend — Happy Birthday, Lisa! And we think warm greetings and healthy good wishes to our Ohio-based family.

Questions:
- Any clarification of what year this was or memories from this party?
- Does Lisa have fond birthday memories from younger years?
Nice picture Matt. The cake is Raggedy Ann, I think. Lisa was a fireball of energy at that age, I liked her haircut especially kn the summer. I am not sure but this may have been 5th birthday, Mom will know for sure.
