The more photos I go through, the more I find that the June 1920 wedding of Bertha Greiner and Walter Jordan was well documented!!
Today, we feature a 3rd shot of that day — wherein we find Bertha and Walter surrounded by their surviving parents. To the left, we have the first image I’ve come across of Edward Jordan. Edward was the Jordan (of this family) that immigrated to the US from England. He lived 1855 (!) – 1931 and his obituary suggests he came to US in his early 20’s and worked during his life as an inspector for the health department. Erin’s healthcare roots go way deep, eh?
To the right, we have Bertha’s parents Christian and Susan (Bauer) Greiner.
It’s interesting to see the suspenders and wide-tie on Edward and the almost Puritan-style of dress that Susan is wearing. As for other details, the backdrop suggests they are in a backyard of someone’s home, in an urban-setting. I would guess that it’s the Greiner home, which I need to research/locate.

Questions
- What do we know about the life of Edward Jordan?
- Where was this taken?
I just see such joy in Grandma Bert and Walter at this time. No worries for the moment. My wonder is— did Grandpa Walter’s family stay involved after Walter died with Grandma and the boys. I don’t remember there involvement with our family at all. Really I never thought about them till these post.
I will say Walter’s dad was handsome. 😊
