This week’s post is a recent follow-up relating to this post here. There, we saw a professional-type wedding portrait of Erin’s maternal great-grandmother, Bertha (Greiner) Jordan and her husband Walter Jordan.
I recently restored this and it was an immediate connection to the former photo. Here, they are found in a more loose, outside pose. It’s nice to have companion photos like this from a long-ago event/era. I wanted to make sure it got posted this month, because the wedding itself was exactly 100 years ago this month! Amazing to think of it being that long ago, and yet Erin was able to get to know her grandma Bert before she died in 1992 (when Erin was 13).
You can see some details of nearby turn-of-the-century homes. The street looks to be packed dirt. There’s a globed street lamp.
- Where is this photo taken? (I never said these questions would be easy..)
