welcome to what looks like a family gathering for the Jordan family. Meg (Jordan) Pickett (my mother in law), is backing her older sister, Chris (Jordan) Wooden.
The long-tables suggest a family feast is nigh. Warm sweaters are being worn. A fresh drink to enjoy for refreshment and conversation. Strong 80’s hair-power.
The photo has a processing date of winter ’85 — I’ll speculate that maybe this is around Thanksgiving of ’85 — when Meg would be 28 and Chris 34 years.
I like this one because Chris and Meg now live together again, and it was nice to be around her over the holidays this year. I also raise my own toast to her many years of service as a nurse, and imagine the number of people who benefited from her care over the decades.

Questions
- What was the event here?
I think this was the annual Knights of Columbus Christmas party. Every year on a Saturday in December we would go with Grandpa Joe, eat lunch, meet Santa, and get a present.
Wonderful input — thanks for the pointer. I’m updating my info every time I get a clue like this.
