I find it highly cool that Erin and I both share a “great-grandma Bert”, I guess it goes to show the name was popular around the turn of the century.
Here, young sisters Carey and Erin are couch-sitting with great-grandma Bertha “Bert” Greiner (Jordan) and inspecting some polaroids together. She was mother to Joe Jordan, who is father to Meg Jordan (Pickett), who is mother to Erin.
I see what looks like christmas cookies in a bowl nearby. You’ve gotta like the magnifying glass and lotion bottle nearby — grandmotherthly staples, for sure.
For location, this would seem to be Bert’s home — records indicate she lived in the 46219 area code — and Erin recalled she was somewhat close to Ellenberger Park — this is on the east side of Indianapolis, IN.
For date, Bert lived Jan 20, 1896 (alternative sources indicate Feb 25, 1896) to Jan 14 of 1992 at age 95. With Erin’s input — the guess of date is around December of 1989. Bert would be 93 years while Carey would be 12 and Erin 11 years old.
