I really enjoy this image — and it reminds me of today — the beginning of summer.
It’s so simply composed — and I think it’s highly relatable to anybody who recalls a moment where you simply immersed yourself in the outdoors, lounged in the grass, let the sunshine hit your eyelids — and let your mind wander, off into somewhere peaceful, relaxing, quiet, gentle.
Maybe that’s where Marty Lunt (Erin’s maternal grandmother) was on this occasion; in an unknown grassy yard, elegantly dressed and sandaled — a simple band ?hairtie on her left wrist.
I estimate her as 19 years old here — that would be around 1948. As I gather her appearance in other images, we may fine tune that over time.
Addendum: I gave my first try at colorization in Photoshop for this one:

Questions
- Where and when was this taken?
- Any tales from Marty’s young adult years?
